Mission Statement

Bismillah er Rahman er Rahim.

The primary mission of the Qadiri Rifai Sufi Order is to be available as a guide to Seekers of Allah. We seek closeness to the pleasure of God in this world and in the hereafter. We train ourselves through service to those in need or less fortunate than ourselves. As Sufis we follow the Qur'an, and the sayings and example of the Prophet Muhammed (saws) and his followers. We acknowledge the blessing of Allah's message in all its forms, in particular from the Prophet Abraham (as) and his lineage.

We follow the fourfold path of the Prophet Muhammed (saws): Sharia, Tariqa, Marifa and Haqqiqa. Sharia is the law; the rules of the contract between Allah and mankind. Tariqa is the path; this is the way that one approaches Allah more closely. Marifa is direct knowledge; when Allah brings His Servant closer. Haqqiqa, is the experience of The Divine Reality. The training for this path consists of intellectual study, physical exercise, prayer, contemplation, meditation, service, charity and Remembrance.

The most important of our practices is the attempt to understand the Qur'an, and put that understanding into practice; to compare our actions against the actions of the Prophet Muhammed (saws), and attempt to better our actions with the help of Allah.

The Qadiri Rifai Sufi Order has no political affiliations whatsoever. We are not Sunni, Shia or Wahabi. Everyone is welcome in our circle if they come in peace.
